Dear Hillebrants and Satterfields

[Lost photo here]

Thank you so much for adopting me into your family for a few days. It was wonderful and I felt right at home. Your family is beautiful and so much fun.

Love, Crissa

13.1

Four months ago I had a goal. After much encouragement that goal soon entangled two others. We trained our butts off and sacrificed so much.
Saturday, November 20 at 6:30 am in Mesquite, Nevada  we crossed the starting line, 13.1 miles away from accomplishment. In the next two hours and twenty seven minutes later the last four months paid off. The first one third of the course was mostly uphill which killed the calves. Luckily Provo has quite a few hills so we were well trained.

As we bused out to the starting point, we sat by a lady who said she had ran 8 marathons and this was her sixth half. After the race we were talking to her again and she said this was the hardest race shes ran due to the head wind of 20-30 mph and the terrain. It was no easy task running in wind that contradicted all movement forward and the horrible sand that was swept into the eyes.Crossing that finishing line was probably one of the hardest things I have done in my life. The feeling of accomplishment was amazing.

Now its just to decide when and where we will attempt a
full marathon

Harry Harry Potter

Campus seemed to be buzzing with Potter fever all day.

The Bell Tower even played the harry potter theme song. It was magical.

...too bad I didn't get to go the movie at midnight. But I'm glad to say I participated in the celebrations!

Sian-Amy (our English friend, who's the cute blondie) made the whole thing a bit mroe realistic with her adorable accent :]

Today's Entertainment

Woke up. Slept late. Roommate asleep. Dark room. Got dressed. Ran to class. Looked down. Pants inside-out. Soooo embarrassed.

Social Networking

So if you haven't noticed social networks have kind of taken over. I know I have accounts on gmail, facebook, blogger, youtube, and on numerous occasions have tapped into many others. My calling in church even revolved around setting up a ward gmail and utalizing facebook as a means of publicity. Because social networking makes communication so easy it can be so exciting. Only question is what is it doing to the way we interact? For those of you who haven't gotten on the band wagon yet, you might want to think twice, "Social Media isn't a fad, it's a fundamental shift in the way we communicate." And heck, hop on -it's a fun ride.

Lasts and Firsts

Saturday was an exciting day. Reasons why:

Last day of work at concessions: I worked maybe 4 hours and they had extra staff so they let me "go home" early. I am not working the last football game due to the fact I have decided to be in running in Arizona that same day and next year I hope to be over seas. Goodbye second job :]

My first BYU football game: Well who would go home when one could watch the game? Although I have been in the stadium every home game since I've moved to provo, I never had the chance to sit in the stands and cheer for my home team. So glad I got to do it at least once :]
